JetBlue Opens New West Coast Base With Nonstop Service Between LA/Long Beach And New York/JFK.

LA/Long Beach-Washington/Dulles Service Starts October 8; $99* Each Way Sale Fare Available for Purchase Until Midnight

New York, NY, 08/29/2001 -- The New York flights are the first of 27 daily departures from Long Beach, to as many as 15 cities, that the airline expects to add over the next two years. JetBlue will commence daily service between Long Beach and Washington Dulles International Airport on October 8.

JetBlue's previously announced $99* one way introductory sale fare between Long Beach and both New York and Washington is still available for purchase through midnight August 29, for travel between between September 4 and November 7. Also, all fares -- including sale fares -- booked online at JetBlue's web site,, will be discounted $5 each way thru September 30.

Regular fares between New York and Los Angeles will start from $129* one way, for a seven day advance purchase fare, which is up to 66% less than other airlines' equivalent fares in the market. JetBlue's most expensive "walk-up" fare will be $299* one way, which is as much as 75% below fares available from other nonstop carriers in the market. JetBlue charges only $25 for itinerary changes, one of the lowest change fees in the industry, compared to $100 on most major carriers.

The airline's daily schedule will be:

JetBlue is considering service to 13 additional cities from Long Beach including Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, Denver, CO, Dallas, TX, Fort Lauderdale, FL, Houston, TX, Las Vegas, NV, Oakland, CA, Portland, OR, Phoenix, AZ, Sacramento, CA, Salt Lake City, UT, and Seattle, WA.

From its base at John F. Kennedy International Airport, JetBlue flies: six times daily to Fort Lauderdale, FL; five times daily Buffalo and Rochester, NY; four times daily to Orlando, FL; three times daily to Tampa, FL, and Syracuse, NY; twice daily to Burlington, VT, LA/Ontario, CA, New Orleans, LA, Oakland, CA, and West Palm Beach, FL; and daily to Denver, CO, Fort Myers, FL, Salt Lake City, UT, and Seattle, WA. Also, JetBlue will add a third daily flight between Oakland and JFK, and daily service between Oakland and Washington/Dulles both on October 8.
