JetBlue Debuts Nonstop Service Between New York And Salt Lake City From Just $99 One-Way

Utahn CEO Introduces His New Airline to His Hometown

New York, NY , 11/17/2000 -- “I was just 25 when we launched Morris Air here in 1984 – I guess time flies when you’re having fun,” said David Neeleman, Utahn CEO of JetBlue Airways. “Sixteen years later, it’s great to be flying home with JetBlue. “JetBlue Airways is a welcome addition to Salt Lake City’s air service mix,” comments Tim Campbell, Executive Director of the Department of Airports, “Their night flight to New York City fills a niche that complements existing air service and gives travelers a nice option.”

JetBlue’s fares on the nonstop service between New York City and Salt Lake City will range from $99 to $249 each way. At $99, JetBlue’s lowest one-way fare is up to 78% less than the regular advance purchase one-way fares of other airlines. And at $249, the airline’s highest one-way fare is as much as 76% less than the equivalent fare on other carriers serving the route nonstop.

JetBlue’s other fares between New York City and Salt Lake City are $129, $159, $179 and $199 each way. No advance purchase is necessary for any of these fares, but seats are limited so early booking is recommended.

Connecting service via JFK is available from Salt Lake City to Buffalo and Rochester, NY, and Burlington, Vt, with one-way fares as low as $129. From Salt Lake City to Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Orlando, Tampa or West Palm Beach, FL, via JFK, one-way fares start at $169.

JetBlue currently flies to ten cities from its base at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport. The airline flies five times daily to Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY, and Fort Lauderdale, Fl; three times a day to Orlando, Fl, and Tampa, Fl; twice daily to West Palm Beach, Fl and Burlington, Vt; and daily to Los Angeles/Ontario and Oakland, CA. Tomorrow, on November 18, JetBlue will launch daily service between JFK and Fort Myers, Fl.

JetBlue operates a fleet of ten brand new, environmentally-friendly Airbus A320 aircraft, outfitted with roomy all-leather seats and equipped with LiveTV, offering 24-channel satellite television, at every seat. LiveTV is available free of charge to all JetBlue passengers. The airline will add another 10 new aircraft next year.
